Charm bracelets have been around for centuries in some form or another, traditionally as a way of keeping lucky talismans and trinkets close at all times. They have been very much in style for some time now and they seem likely to remain popular for the foreseeable future too. If you haven’t already invested in a charm bracelet, now is the time to get started!
Charm bracelets can come in different styles but they all have loops to which your charms can be attached. There are traditional link charm bracelets and other more unusual styles around – a super-modern twist is a charm bracelet combined with cord, a beautiful piece of designer jewellery that will co-ordinate well with a friendship bracelet or look fabulous on its own.
When choosing charms for your charm bracelet, you might just choose charms that you like the look of, or you might be given charms by loved ones that will mean something special to you. Doing so will allow you to show off your personal taste and allows you free rein to choose whatever charms you like.
No longer limited to charms that act as good luck symbols, there is a wide selection of charms available, particularly from designer jewellery stores that stock good-quality, unique charms.
If you want to give your bracelet a theme, choose one of your interests (or all of your interests) and look for charms that have some connection you’re your hobbies or passions.
Perhaps you enjoy travelling – you could fill your charm bracelet with charms that remind you of the places you have visited, for example with a charm of a famous landmark. Or maybe you are an animal lover, in which case there are many different animal charms to choose from.
Some people use their charm bracelets as a record of major events in their life: important birthdays, the birth of a child, a change of career and so on. Those are really lovely charms to pass down to the next generation in due course because they tell the story of your life and can trigger discussions about those times with your loved ones.
The really lovely thing about owning a charm bracelet is that it you and your loved ones can keep adding to it year on year. Selecting good-quality charms and a solid charm bracelet will ensure that you have a beautiful, ever-evolving piece of designer jewellery for years to come.
