Isle of Wight

There are a range of routes available for different types of cycling as well difficulty levels. If you are looking for a challenge while the rest of the group prefers a leisurely cycle, then this is the place for you. If you are into festival you should visit the Isle of Wight during the months of September and October when the Cycling Festival takes place. Ayrshire Coast Cycleway

If you are looking for beautiful view of the Isle of Arran the Irvine and Troon to Prestwich and Ayr would be the perfect fit. This cycle amounts up to about 13 miles and will take you from Beach Park in Irvine on a rather smooth path all the way through two nature reserves. Here you will find a small off-road section where you will enter the coastline of Troon alongside the edge of a very popular and well know golf-course. The route will end in the town centre of Ayr.

The Viking Coastal Trail

This trail does not sound ancient for no reason, so if you don’t mind cycling through the ages, then the Viking Coastal Trail is just what you have been looking for. Have the privilege of cycling through pretty villages with ancient churches with the route even passing the legendary Minister Abbey. Minister Abbey was founded in 670AD and remains to be one of Englands’s oldest inhabited buildings. By taking a short detour you will also be able to see Monkton Nature reserce, home to rare wild flowers. With this trail you have the option to take on the full trail you can opt for the 9 mile traffic free route along the coast from Margate to Reculver.

Cowes to Sandown

Rated as one of the most easiest coast-to-coast routes in the country, this would be the ideal route of first time cyclists. The route will start at the Chain Ferry Terminal in West Cowes and end in the lovely resort of Sandown. The entire route is about 16 miles and you will be able to get refreshments at Pointer Inn situated in near Newchurch. This involves a steep climb so save some energy from your cycling.
