1) Strawberries
Strawberry plants tend to sprout little white flowers before the berries themselves start growing, but strawberry plants tend to last and bear fruit for 3 years so even though they do need to be fertilized quite often – they’re worth it.
2) Bonanza Dwarf Peach Tree
Should be kept in a sunny place, preferably near a window, with temperatures ranging from 50-55°F while it’s growing but once it starts growing fruit the temperature needs to be around 70°F.
3) Figs
Fig plants are quite easy to grow as you don’t need to feed it very often; it should be kept in a well-lit area but shouldn’t be in direct sunlight. The tree should also be trimmed every so often to control too much growth.

4) Mulberries
Mulberries grow best in large pots in well-ventilated areas where the temperature is between 55 and 70°F. They grow slowly so don’t panic if you don’t think anything has happened for a while.
5) Cape Gooseberries
This plant should be grown in a large pot directly under a window in order to encourage the most growth.
6) Rosemary
A good pot with drainage holes are necessary when growing Rosemary as they can very easily be over-watered and should be re-potted every year or so.
7) Cinnamon
Cinnamon trees have beautiful white flowers and the cinnamon itself is simply the bark on the plant that can be removed by scraping it off.
8) Calamondin Orange
This plant flourishes if placed in direct sunlight and fertilized twice a month. It has beautiful flowers that work great for decoration, as well as growing delicious fruit.
9) Red Peppers
Red peppers grow best when you use liquid fertilizer on them – only make sure not to use one that contains nitrogen as it will create great growth in the leaves, but no growth in the peppers themselves.
10) Eggplant
Eggplant, like tomatoes, can easily become diseased when grown outdoors. They need sunshine and warm temperatures to grow and after they have sprouted should be placed in 5 Gallon pots so they can really grow properly.
Many of these plants are incredibly temperature sensitive and for that reason many flourish indoors where temperatures can be controlled. Indoor plants are good for our health, and the plants above are wonderfully tasty so why not make a trip to your local plant nursery!
