Gift baskets are one of the easiest gifts to give, especially to someone who is hard to shop for. If you have a hard time thinking of what type of gift to get the recipient on your list who seems to have it all then you should seriously consider giving them a one-of-a-kind gift basket. You can’t go wrong with a gift basket, and most people love receiving them. However, if you’ve never shopped for a gift basket before it can be a little bit confusing. There are so many different types of gift baskets from corporate gift baskets to gourmet food gift baskets that it can be hard to pick one. Choosing the right type of gift basket does not have to be trial and error, a method which never works when giving gifts since once you give the gift there is no more trial even if the gift is an error. Below are four tips for choosing the perfect gift basket to give as a gift.
1. Choose a gift basket based on the recipient. Corporate gift baskets are a lot different than college logo gift baskets. If you are planning to give a gift basket to your associates in the industry you work in then a corporate gift basket is the right choice. If you want to give the gift basket to a new graduate who played softball at their alma mater than a college logo gift basket would work best. Always ask yourself who the recipient is in relation to you and what style of basket would best suit them.
2. Choose a unique gift basket. In addition to basing your gift basket on the recipient you should also choose a gift basket that is unique in terms of what it contains and even the container that it comes in. There are so many ways that a gift basket can showcase the creativity of the giver. Once you know who your recipient is you can then think about their likes and dislikes and try to incorporate them into the basket. If you are giving a gift basket to your mother who is a wine connoisseur then she would probably like gourmet food gift baskets featuring a bottle of wine, cheese, and crackers. To make the basket more unique you could also include a pair of wine glasses, some wine bottle stoppers, and even a bunch of gourmet grapes.
3. Pick a theme for your gift basket. The best way to make a gift basket stand out to its intended recipient is to pick a theme. Theme gift baskets put together a variety of objects centering around one theme. A theme can have to do with a subject matter, such as the above example about wine, or a color. For instance if you took the wine basket and made everything in the basket a dark red color, including the wine, you would actually have two themes you could play with. Try to think outside of the box when you are picking your theme.
4. Pick a gift basket that is full to the brim. Many gift baskets today come with so much filler paper and Styrofoam that it’s hard to even tell where the gifts are hidden inside all the cellophane and foam. If you really want to impress your recipient try to give a gift basket that is chock full of goodies. For example, if you are giving corporate gift baskets to your fellow employees you don’t want to appear stingy. By picking a gift basket that is full you will look generous and giving instead.
