With the Elife S7, the company revealed that the brand isn’t chasing the slimmest smartphone title since the flagship measures 5.5mm around the waist. The vendor took a step back from the race which it started with the Elife S5.5, later followed by the Elife S5.1. Though the Gionee Elife S7 isn’t the slimmest smartphone out there, but it packs a set of features which makes it the best flagship phone from the brand till date. Design & Display
The Gionee Elife S7 sports a solid frame made of aviation grade aluminium magnesium alloy that is merged with stainless steel to make the device light weight. The flagship comes with both the rear and front panels made of glass. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects both the sides of the smartphone from scratches. With such design elements, the Elife S7 is the best looking handset from the brand till date. Coming to the display, the phone flaunts a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD resolution for crispy details. The phone is fuelled by a heavy 2,750mAh battery, which as per the brand delivers 33 hours of standby time with just 10 percent of battery remaining.
Software features
On the software front, the Gionee Elife S7 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop along with the Amigo UI 3.0 skin on top. The brand’s new Amigo custom UI is lighter, snappier, and addresses all the issues of the previous iteration of the UI. The device comes with a new quick setting panel inspired by iOS devices, which is now accessible by swiping up from the bottom. In addition, the smartphone also supports several smart gestures like double tapping to wake and hovering hand over the display to browse pictures.
Camera & Connectivity
The Gionee Elife S7 captures images and videos with great amount of details via its 13MP primary shooter that is coupled with an LED flash. The phone impresses the selfie lovers with an 8MP secondary camera. In terms of connectivity, the device misses out almost nothing. The 4G-enabled smartphone supports LTE on both of the SIM slots, including support for India’s Band 3 and Band 40 LTE bands.
