With teeth reminiscent of Madge’s, it’s no wonder that Georgia May Jagger was chosen by the pop queen to be the new face of her and Lourdes’ fashion label. The Rolling Stone’s wild child has grown from awkward teenager to successful model, and it’s very evident in the recent profile she’s been gaining.
Georgia May Jagger on Fashion and Madonna
Enlisted to walk the catwalk with the likes of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell at the London Olympics opening ceremony, Mick Jagger’s spawn was recently quoted in an interview saying that she still asks her mom for modelling tips. Not pretending to have it all nailed down, Georgia May admitted that she still finds “photos and fashion intimidating.”
The youngest daughter of the Rolling Stone’s frontman and wife Jerry Hall, Georgia May Jagger’s bio is fairly tame compared to that of her parents. Born in 1992, Georgia signed her first modelling contract at the tender age of 16 with Independent Models. Since then, she’s been featured in campaigns for Rimmel, Versace, Chanel, Hudson Jeans and now Material Girl.
On choosing Georgia May Jagger as the face of the Material Girl fall fashion line, Madonna has complimented the model as capturing the “energy and free spirit” of the brand. The second daughter of a rock star to be commissioned for the role, Georgia follows in the footsteps of Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, who modelled for Material Girl in 2011. Kelly now hosts the ‘Fashion Police’ on E! Entertainment beside Joan Rivers, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos.
The first photoshoot for the fall line reportedly took place backstage at one of Madonna’s tour rehearsals in the Nassau Coliseum. Including a mix of bustier dresses, Peter Pan-collar tops and bandeau mini, Georgia May has insisted that the collection is right up her alley (those preferences for Vivienne Westwood designs might be dwindling).
Despite getting her model looks from her mom, Georgia May Jagger has recently attributed her sense of style to none other than Madonna. A fan of Madge’s affinity for reinventing herself throughout the years, Ms Jagger has described the fashion brand as an expression of the pop queen’s youth. The line, which is a collaboration between Madge and her daughter Lola, is very popular amongst the younger generation.
Career on the Rise?
Excited about her upcoming catwalk run with Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell at the London Olympics, Georgia May Jagger’s latest style stint with Material Girl is indicative that her career is on the rise. All-eyes on the model that continues to live in the legacy of two highly successful parents, her self-discovery promises a larger level of fame – fame she can definitely call her own.
