Introduction
Midsummer night’s dream is a play about Theseus, duke of Athens, who was arranging his marriage to Hippolyta, a queen of the Amazons. The marriage festival was to take four days of entertainment and pomp. He directs his master of revels, Philostrate, to look for the best amusements for that particular occasion. An Athenian nobleman named Egeus, sets out to court alongside his daughter Hermia, as well as two gentlemen Lysander and Demetrius. Egeus’s wanted Hermia to get married to Demetrius. On the contrary, Hermia and Lysander are great lovers and therefore, the idea fails. Egeus demands that her daughter be severely punished by the law if she goes against his wish. Theseus offers Hermia enough time to reconsider her choices, giving her warning that if she disobeys her father’s will she would risk either being executed or sent to a convent. After Lysander and Hermia discovered their ill fate in the Athens, they organised to escape and marry in a separate location, Lysander’s aunt house, which was just a few miles from town. The two lovers disclosed their escape plan to Helena – Hermia’s friend who once loved Demetrius and her love for him still lingered. Hoping to resume his love, Helena discloses their escape and marriage plan to Demetrius. Demetrius decides to wait for them in the woods the day of the planned events. Lysander
Lysander hails in Athens and comes from a ‘luck and stable family’.

Philostrate is the ‘master of revels’ of Theseus. He is sent by the Duke to encourage Athens residents to party his wedding and enjoy happy moments four days ahead of the wedding day.
Quince
Quince, who is a carpenter, organises his workmates in preparing the play he has come up with to present during Hippolyta and Theseus wedding day.
Bottom
Bottom is a no nonsense fellow who participates with all his efforts in his parts.
Flute
Flute is the ‘bellows-mender’, a young with facial hair starting to grow.
Snout
Snout is an ‘interfering cast’ as the father of Pyramus and the Quince’s play wall.
Snug
Snug casts as the ‘lion’.
Titania
Titania is the ‘fairies’ queen’
Starveling
Starveling is a ‘tailor’.
