Most parents are extremely busy in the morning and need to be able to make things fast, especially if there is more than one child in the house. This can make eating healthy a challenge. Here are four quick and easy recipes that will save you time and money, as well as have your children eating much healthier.

Recipe #1-Old Time Favorite, With a Twist

What you will need:

Bread (whole wheat)

Peanut Butter (crunchy or smooth)

Jelly or Jam of any flavor

Most kids love the PB&J, or peanut butter and jelly. Its quick and easy to make, and most kids can even make it themselves, with adult supervision of course. A good way to throw in some extra nutrients is to add fruit to the sandwich such as sliced bananas, sliced strawberrys, or apples slices. Make sure to use jelly or jam that has no added sugar, making it even healthier.

Recipe #2-Salads Can Be Fun

What you will need:

Chopped lettuce

Onions

Carrots

Cherry Tomatoes

Cucumbers

Finely Shredded Cheese of any flavor

Light Dressing of any flavor

Tupperware container, with lid

Do your children think salads are boring and tastless? Here is a way to shake things up a little! Take your Tupperware container and add in a good amount of chopped lettuce. Allow your children to add in the things they want in their salad. Add a little cheese and a serving of the light dressing. Close the Tupperware container and allow your children to shake it all up inside the container. This way, they have fun jumping around and shaking, they are exercising. It allows the dressing to coat all of the ingredients, saving the extra calories of extra dressing.

What you will need:

Sharp Knife

Oranges

2 tablespoons orange juice

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon sugar

Each orange should yield about 5 or 6 slices. After you cut the oranges into slices, whisk together the juices, sugar, and cinnamon. Spoon the mixed ingredients onto the orange slices as you would a sauce. You can arrange the orange slices onto plates, or stick them into tupperware containers.
