To the young, this topic may not be very interesting. To those who are nearing the age of biological maturity however, topics on how to avoid wrinkles, saggy eyelids, and slow metabolism are trending. The “young at heart” and even those just nearing their 40’s are curious and wants to know the most effective ways to delay aging, in particular aesthetically.
So what do people today do to delay aging? Here’s a list of the most common procedures or anti aging treatments people pay for or do just to stay younger looking longer.
Botox Treatments
The fist is called Botox treatment. This is very popular among celebrities we read and hear about someone famous getting a Botox treatment. But what is Botox and how does it work? Well, Botox is used by doctors to treat wrinkles and to prevent facial creases from forming. Botox works by blocking signals coming from the nerves going to the muscles. When Botox is injected into the facial muscle, usually those around the eye area, the muscles are no longer able to contract, and this allows the wrinkles to relax. When muscles are relaxed, the formation of wrinkles is delayed. Botox is famous as an effective treatment of frown lines, particularly the glabellar line or those lines between the eyebrows. Botox is also used for other areas of the face.
Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing
The second is laser skin resurfacing, and the most popular is called Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing. So how does this type of laser skin resurfacing work? Primarily, laser resurfacing uses beams of energy light, very light beams that is, to bore little holes in the facial skin. This procedure actually hastens the production of collagen in the body. There’s a little downside though with this procedure – it comes at a very high price. The Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing costs $5,000. The advantages are as follows: it only requires one or two sessions, maximum of four days downtime and the effect lasts 8 to 10 years.
Wrinkle Injections
This anti aging procedure uses substances to fill wrinkles. So what do the fillers do? They make the face look fuller and the effect is a younger looking you! In the United Sates today, there are 4 FDA approved substances now that are used as wrinkle fillers: Artifill, Perlane, Juvéderm, and Radiesse. Fillers are used to “volumize” the skin anywhere on the face, and doctors are now confident that patients can improve their looks without having to go through any surgery. So how long does the fillers last? According to health and beauty experts doing wrinkle injections, most filler last up to one year.
